Questions
I have an object that is 12" long, will it scan?
Is Matter and Form 3D Scanner V2 compatible with LInux?
There is a rapidly growing market for 3D-printed gaming miniatures--- https://www.myminifactory.com/ , https://www.minimonstermayhem.com/ are just two examples---but there are no affordable 3D scanners suitable for these scales. Would you consider making a mini version of your scanner, with half the scan area size, but at least twice the resolution?
Whats the minimum size toscan to give reason accuracy +/- 0.1m is a bit too crude I think for example say a 1" Long 6mm Nut and Bolt so a 3D Print would be a good enough fit Some pic example of finished (small) product would be useful for potential users to asses this device
can items that are very small - less than 20mm be scanned?
Can the 3d file created be imported into shapeoko or the Nomad as a template for carving ?
Can this be used to scan pistols for molding purposes? Most pistols are dark and some scanners doesn't scan very well because of this!
Can this scanner accurately scan clear glass objects such as soda bottles or unusual paperweights?
How does the Matter and Form scanner deal with the very top and bottom of the scan? In videos I’ve seen it look like empty spots left.
Is there an actual scanner in this package? I see the turn table and what looks like a holder or mount for a scanner but where's the scanner? The package adds the idea of a hand held scanner for $499. Does this hand scanner fit together with this turntable? The set for $1,300 can we use this setup to scan faces and produce detailed items such as 3D cookie templates/cutters or place hie and her faces on Wedding cake statues?
Where do I download the software that you claim is included with my purchase of the V2 scanner?
+-.1mm accuracy? Could this be used for reverse engineering?
