You will likely need to check to see if the board can handle 4x Extruders, create a mounting solution and modify the firmware.

Ive been using regular car antifreeze since my original post. Import antifreeze is good on aluminum, brass, and electric pumps. Thanks matterhackers!

i recently switched back to to water temporarily after using antifreeze and it immediately started to show thick brown oxidation. Im thinking its the brass fittings but not fully sure. I definitely recommend running either automotive antifreeze or something with oil.

This kraken just wont jam if you keep water flowing. I left my nozzle on by accident and went off to work at 260c. The filament was nice and cooked but wasnt jammed. Ive left it on many times before but never for a full day at work and it was perfectly fine and printed afterwards. When i first got it i left them on with no water flow. All 4 jammed harder than anything ive ever seen and it took 2 full days getting it unjammed. Programmed water is a MUST.

24v ran for about 1/2 second, then pump stopped and started swelling. As far as I know only one pwm output is used for part cooling. (Azteeg x3 pro) I'm still trying to find a good 24v source stateside. Theyre plentiful in china.

That's nearly identical to the regulator I bought this morning, along with 2 more pumps. I want to burn up one more pump just to see how far it can go :).

There's not a reason it wouldn't work on the QIDI, but it's going to take some engineering any way you go about adding the Kraken to any printer, so it wouldn't be quite fair to say that it "works" with that printer in particular any more than it does with others.

The reality is that the Kraken is for advanced users only, and installing it on any printer will take engineering and a highly technical skill level.

Me too. The CR-10S controller board won't support it. So this would need a replacement of the board and the LCD. I am tempted.

No, unfortunately the Kraken is 4 x 1.75mm only.

Your printer needs electronics capable of driving 4 extruders. Almost none have that capability out of the box.

We don't have one of those printers here to test with, so I cannot tell you whether or not it will work, however I do agree that the MH3000 looks like a better candidate than most. Ultimately it is going to depend on how much effort you are willing to put into it.

As with any hot end upgrade, you are first going to have to engineer a way to mount it to the machine. Then you will need to splice the new heater cartridges and thermistors into the existing electrical connections. You will need to reconfigure the firmware to use the correct type of thermistors and to account for the different nozzle offsets. There may also be some plumbing work that needs to be done if the printer's water cooling system uses different size tubing.

We do not know anything about the Wanhao Duplicator 5S specifically, however the answer is likely no. Almost no controller boards have enough motor drivers or thermistor inputs to run 4 extruders.

No. The Workbench is a direct drive machine that is only equipped to run two extruders. It would take some major reengineering to convert it to a quad extruder bowden setup.

The RigidBot only has support for two extruders, so unfortunately the Kraken will not work on it without a major overhaul of the electronics system.

No, because the K8200 does not have a board capable of running four extruders.

@Ray- The Kraken will not work with the Robo R1. The Robo has a direct drive extruder, and the Kraken is bowden fed making it not compatible.

I converted mine to bowden and I have a chimera installed. I will upgrade to kraken in the future.

You would need to replace the controller board as well. The RAMPS board in the Robo only supports 2 extruders.

@Trystan yes, since the FlashForge is open source, you can use the Kraken. You probably have to print some kind of mount to attach it.

We don't know of any currently available board that can handle 4 extruders. There are some controllers that allow expansion that would make it possible, but it's still very experimental.

Checkout the BBP1S: http://www.fastbot3d.com/boardbbp1s. It has 7x DRV8825's on board and has 3 heater circuits, 2x that will support two heads in parallel and the other for a heated bed. I recommend getting ball spring valves or building a tool changer with 3 plugs, that the printer can drop down on to switch heads.

We also now carry the Azteeg X3 Pro, which is built to run up to 5 extruders.

You can stack 2x GRBL boards ontop of an Adruino and there is few Beta firmwares to control it. when say Beta very beta lolz!
