*Some filaments absorb moisture more quickly than other filaments and need to be frequently put in a drying device to ensure they are moisture-free before printing for optimal results. We recommend the PrintDry PRO to dry filament. Why do I need to dry my filament? Check out this article on the benefits of doing so.

How Do You Install and Maintain LayerLock Garolite Build Surface?

INSTALLATION

  • Clean your build plate with isopropyl alcohol.
  • Remove the adhesive liner on the back of the garolite.
  • Attach and align the garolite onto the build plate.
  • Calibrate Z-height with the newly installed surface.
  • Level print bed

That's it! You're ready to print. For a more detailed walkthrough on "How to Succeed" with garolite installation, check out our article here!

MAINTENANCE

  • Wipe the print surface before and after a print with isopropyl alcohol to maintain a clean surface.
  • Clean off PVA glue with water.
  • Be careful whenever using a sharp scraper to remove prints off the surface.
  • If the print surface becomes damaged from scratches or slight chipping, it is recommended that users lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper and a sanding block. It is best to sand the entire plate evenly to avoid creating low spots. Avoid inhaling dust particles from sanding by wearing a respirator mask.
