Upgrade Your TAZ 5 or 6 to Print Multi-Material
Dual extrusion 3D printing is very useful for a variety of applications, from multi color prints to multi material, but also for soluble support material like PVA and HIPS. The updated design of the LulzBot Dual Extruder Tool Head features massive improvements over the v2, the nozzles are now much closer together, for better utilization of the bed surface and also for easier calibration. When printing with only one nozzle the standard auto-calibration will operate the same as with the stock toolhead, for completely automatic bed leveling. The only additional calibration required is setting the offset between the two nozzles - required for dual extrusion prints. This kit includes everything you need to get started right away, including the power cable for the second extruder, second spool holder and filament guide tube.

Questions
What sample filament does this come with and how much? Is it enough to do a couple of test prints?
I am wanting to use this extruder with Matter Control 2.0, however I do not know what to put in in the printer set up, ex; nozzle offsets. Thanks for the help!
Is this tool head compatible with the Taz Workhorse? Is there a dual extruder that can be used?
Hi, What is the total cost for this item including shipping? https://www.matterhackers.com/store/printer-accessories/lulzbot-dual-extruder-tool-head-for-taz
Can I use a hardened steel nozzle with this to print carbon fiber?
Do these nozzles require a purge/wipe block?
Do you recommend this tool head? I'm interested but I do not see any reviews online and I have been seeing issues with people having heat creep. Is there a version 4 coming soon? What tool heads from lulzbot do you recommend?
Can it print flexible materials or stainless steel PLA?
Is the compatible with the Taz 4? If not, are there any upgrades which can be made to the 4 to make it compatible?
Is this item eligible for Lulzbot support if I buy it from you?
What may be the problems using flexible material with the dual extruder V3? Are PTFE lined nozzles available for the dual extruder V3?
We have the V3 Dual Extruder operating on my TAZ6. We had a crash and need a new heat-break for the left hot end. Can a heat break for this extruder be purchased apart from the hot end assembly?
I have the V2 head and had quite a few problems with it. Is there a way to convert the V2 head into a V3 head?
I purchased one of these and quickly went to swap one of the nozzles out with a hardened steel nozzle and discovered that the standard E3D nozzles appear to be incompatible. The threads on the V3 nozzles are much longer, looks like it could be the Volcano form factor. Can you guys confirm if I can use one of your E3D Volcano nozzles with this dual extruder?
can this be converted to 1.75mm? are the heatbreaks standard e3d?
Hi my printer broke after a day can i get a refund
What is the nozzle material?

Does this work on taz 6?
In the "How's This Dual Extruder Made?" you reference a .35mm nozzle, but in "Fast Facts" you reference .50mm. Can you please clarify which it is? Thanks!
printed parts for dual Extruder V2
how do i install it
This says it comes with a .35 nozzle, but Lulzbot states theirs come with .5 - did you change it to .35?
is this for the v2? The picture of the v1.
Is this kit made for Taz 5?
Can you extrude regular material like PLA or HIPS from the flexible extruder so as not to need the other dual extruder.
when will this item become available?
can i put smaller nozzles on this? i need to print thin parts and require a .2 or maximum .3 nozzle size. if so, what are the specs on the nozzle i will need? also, does this extruder have any trouble heating to 280 to print polycarbonate?
Hi @Bob!
The LulzBot, According to the source file on their website:
As long as you use E3D coated 0.5 volcano nozzle (E3D Volcano Plated Nozzle, 0.5mm) We have not tried using a different nozzle nor a nozzle diameter ourselves.
Max Printing temp for this hotend is 300C. Theoretically, you can print PC if you also have an enclosure.
