Enhancing the Best of Both Worlds: ASA Fuses Thermal and UV Resistance in a Single Material
ASA stands out as an extraordinary 3D printing material, ingeniously merging top-notch thermal and UV resistance properties. This fusion results in a material that excels in strength, durability, and longevity, outperforming its counterparts in challenging outdoor settings. Furthermore, ASA's impressive temperature resilience renders it the go-to choice for fabricating components required to operate in confined car cabins or other high-temperature environments. Rest assured, when the sweltering summer sun bears down, ASA remains unyielding, preserving its structural integrity.
The true game-changer for ASA, however, lies in its unparalleled UV resistance. While other 3D printing materials are prone to color alterations and mechanical property deterioration after extended outdoor exposure, ASA boasts a UV inhibitor that circumvents such damage. Consequently, components printed with PRO Series ASA maintain their strength and aesthetic attributes for years, even under the most severe outdoor conditions.
In summary, ASA heralds a substantial breakthrough in 3D printing material applications, delivering a potent blend of robustness, temperature resistance, and UV resistance. With ASA at your disposal, you can craft high-caliber, enduring components that withstand the test of time, making it the optimal material choice for a diverse array of applications.
How to succeed with ASA
To achieve high-quality 3D prints with ASA, you need to follow some best practices:
Bed Adhesion: ASA requires a heated build plate to promote good adhesion, typically around 90-110°C. You can use a build surface like LayerLock PEI, BuildTak, or Glass with a layer of adhesion promoter such as Magigoo or Nano Polymer Adhesive. Ensure that the bed is level before printing.
Print Temperature: ASA requires a printing temperature of 240-260°C, which is higher than PLA or ABS. A high-quality all-metal hot end is recommended, as ASA will overheat and destroy a PTFE-lined hot end.
Cooling: Unlike PLA, ASA requires minimal cooling during printing to prevent warping or cracking. However, you can use a small amount of cooling to prevent sagging in overhanging sections.
Enclosure: ASA is prone to warping, especially when printing large parts, so it's essential to print in an enclosed area. A printer enclosure helps maintain a consistent temperature and prevent drafts from cooling the print too quickly. Remember to leave your printer closed up when a print finishes to let the part fully cool in order to avoid warping and splitting.
Post-Processing: ASA can be sanded, painted, or even vapor smoothed with acetone to smooth out the surface finish. However, be cautious of the fumes when using solvents and use appropriate protective gear.
By following these tips, you can produce high-quality, durable prints with ASA that can withstand high temperatures and prolonged outdoor exposure. Would Pro filament work with Creality Ender 3
Is MH Pro PLA compatible with the Raise3D E2 printer?
Is "Antique White" semi translucent? Its the same that sent free with the Ender 3 printer?
Concerning Product No. M-L76-6JVU, do you know what the RGB or Hex code is for this color? I'm looking for this color with these settings. PANTONE: PMS 208 C Hex Color: #630031; RGB: (99, 0, 49) Thanks.
Why do you not describe the color properties of your filament with details like has sparkles or other add-ins? I got a roll of Antares Red and upon arrival found it had glitter in it where the images all depicted it as a solid crimson. Not what I was looking for.
Everything seems to be out of stock. Is there something amis? Or just wait?
I'm looking to buy this product. Can't seem to find anything like it, but I need it in 750g spool for Ultimaker S5. Could I get this order in 750g instead?
Is the Jet Gray PRO Series PLA Filament - 1.75mm (1kg) consider as non conductive for electrical voltages up to 480v? If not is there a special filament that would meet this standard need to make s few custom insulator bushings for a 480v box.
What are the recommended drying settings?
Question.....do you guys carry or have this in a Dark Military Green and or a Dark Grey Green? need this color for the 1:6 scale Military projects that I am doing...........olive drab is to light and will not work on exterior purposes
whats the difference between the infinite void black and black, will the particulate (as it seems to be) in the infinite void mask common imperfections from layers?
Are either the electric pink PRO or the magenta MH Build fluorescent? Thanks
What is the tare weight of the empty spool.
Do you have tested filament profiles for use in PrusaSlicer?
Curious about the lighting qualities of this product - do thin layers of white allow light through? Is it translucent when applied in thin layers? Looking to put an LED behind a thin layer of this filament.
Is Infinite Void Black PLA abrasive? Does it have a matte appearance?
Hey Steven! Infinite Void Black is not abrasive but does not have a Matte finish, it's similar in finish to the Black PLA. Infinite Void Black is slightly translucent with gold glitter.
