How to Refill Your Prusament Refill Spool
Prusament Refill is an environmentally-friendly way to refill your empty Prusament spool.
Once you run out of Prusament, and the spool is empty, simply remove the spool's sides and attach them to Prusament Refill - which comes wound on a spool core. Every Prusament Refill made is up to the high quality standards of Prusa's in-house made filaments and is well-secured for transport, so you don't have to worry about tangled spools.
The Prusament spool consists of black plastic sides and a cardboard centerpiece. The sides are pushed on the centerpiece and can be removed to reuse or recycle.
- Separate the sides of the spool from the cardboard centerpiece
- Gently pull the spool ends and slowly rotate it to loosen the sides from the center
- Remove one side and repeat on the other side
- Prep a new Prusament refill (do not remove the orange tape!)
- Attach the bundle to one side's center by applying pressure and rotating until secure
- Repeat on the other side
- Cut the orange tape and your spool is ready for use!

TIPS & TRICKS
- PETG may produce some stringing or oozing during printing, unlike PLA or ABS.
- Drying the filament before use helps reduce stringing. Find filament dryers here.
- Adjusting retraction settings or hotend temperature can further minimize stringing.
- Using Prusa Slicer’s filament presets optimizes settings for minimal stringing.
- Any remaining strings can be easily removed with a quick pass of a heat gun.
