BASIC ATTRIBUTES

STRENGTHS TRADE-OFFS
Paramagnetic material Requires a hardened nozzle
High density (heavy material) Lower layer-to-layer adhesion
compared to pure PETG
Visually appealing matte black surface Cannot be transformed into a
permanent magnet under
home conditions

TIPS & TRICKS

  • Using an abrasive-resistant nozzle (hardened steel, ruby-tip, diamond-tip, tungsten carbide, etc.) is highly recommended.
    • Magnetite powder is a highly abrasive material and will quickly wear out a brass nozzle.
  • Prusament PETG Magnetite 40% does not become magnetic under normal conditions.
    • Magnetizing the filament would require a very powerful magnetic field. Achieving true magnetism needs specialized equipment not available for typical home use.
