HOW TO FIT PRUSAMENT REFILL SPOOL
The Prusament spool consists of black plastic sides and a cardboard centerpiece. Both sides are attached to a detachable and recyclable center.
Assembling the Refill spool
- Prepare an empty Prusament spool. The sides can be loosened and removed from the cardboard centerpiece one at a time by pulling the ends of the spool apart with gradual rotation and a reasonable amount of force. The cardboard can now be recycled.
- Without removing the orange tape, attach the refill bundle to the center of one side, pressing firmly in a gradual rotation for a secure fit. Confirm that the refill is fully pushed in and repeat with the other side.
- When the spool is securely assembled, cut off the front of the orange strips.
- The spool is now ready for printing!
Tip: All Refill spools have a wide secure strip with a small paper label that includes information about the material. The label can be stuck on the side of the spool for easy access to the details.
Note: Gray Prusament spools cannot be detached since they are typically glued to the cardboard centerpieces for filaments that require drying in high temperatures.

TIPS & TRICKS
- PLA is the easiest filament to print with, offering hassle-free results.
- Minimal setup is required for producing reliable prints.
- No need for complicated post-processing methods.
SANDING
- Wet sanding is recommended, if post-processing.
- Without water, you run the risk of heating the plastic with friction, which will melt and deform that area. It also clogs the sanding material easily.
GLUING
- Superglue is recommended for most parts, but PLA can be glued with many types of glue.
- Acetone may be used as glue, but it strongly depends on the various additives and colors used.
Drying the filament before use is generally not required. However, if you run into issues with an old spool of filament that has been sitting without storage, drying the filament is often a first recommendation (outside of settings) for troubleshooting. Find filament dryers here.
