Questions
Can you print pla without glue on this surface?
Not a question: I just wanted to say that this garolite sheet is awesome. I've been printing on PEI exclusively pretty much ever since I got my printer 9 months ago. I recently started printing PETG and decided to see if there was any other build surface that would have the same amount of adhesion without taking a part of the surface with it when I removed the part. This stuff fits the bill perfectly. Just as good adhesion as PEI with an easier ability to remove the part with the plus that the bottom surface is shiny like glass rather than matte like PEI. Stick this onto the bottom of a flexplate and you'll never look back!
Hi what size do I need for my prusa mk3s?
Can an Ultimaker S7 Sheet be added? Or should the S5 details be updated to include the S7? Is it also compatible? Also, it states that glass is required for the thin sheet and not required for the thick sheet. I have a metal flex plate included with the S7, so which would be needed?
Nylon G sticks almost too well. Had to really really fight to get it off. Any suggestions on a release agent? Plain PVA glue?
Is is possible to GAROLITE BUILD SURFACE in a 410x410mm size? I have a RatRig 400 and would love to get one for it
Is there a worldwide shortage of G10 or something? Many of the ones I want have been out of stock for like a year
Most layerlock garolite surfaces are out of stock with an estimated restock date of January 1. Since it is may 2023, should we expect restocking to occur in January of 2024?
Will Prusas pinda probe still work with garolite applied?
There was an error with the Z access and the nozzle slightly dug into the printbed (Id say maybe .05mm into the bed or pressure on the bed) leaving a trace and a lighter shade/white residue almost on the bed and I fear may be permanent damage any suggestions on restoring/cleaning the bed? (Was printing with PLA Ex-205 Bed-75 )
Any reason why the thick buildplate is not available for the ultimaker s3?
How thick are the plates?
Why no buildplate compatible for the Ultimaker S3!? I hope its just out of stock, for now I'm buying the S5 and cutting it on the table saw.
Interested to get the ender 3 version....Does it come with the adhesive on one side? I am looking to just sit it on top of the magnetic part of a pei bed (so that I can switch between the two) so ideally it is without adhesive. also do you have uk stockists?
Can this be adhered to a Buildtak flexible sheet so it's easy to pop off the bed with the Buildtak system (or similar system)?
How do I remove the LayerLock Garolite Build Surface 9" x 10"?
How well does this keep its form? I mean does it warp easily? I bought gasoline just like this from ebay that was half inch thick and that thing worped in the middle like crazy once it got heated.
Can I order a sheet of 350mm x 350 mm (or slightly larger)?
I have a very large bed that is 500mm x 500mm (19.68in). Is there a custom or oversized version that I can by and cut to fit?
I need a sheet that is 16x16 in, are these sheets the same as the Halogen-Free Garolite G-10 or Multipurpose Flame-Retardant Garolite G-10/FR4 from McMaster-Carr?
The Ender 5 Pro uses a dual magnet build plate (both glass plate and build surface are magnets). Can this be adhered to the top of the flexible magnetic build surface?
Can I print Polycarbonate on this?
Can I print TPU straight to bed without any glue sticks?
Is there a size that is pre-made to fit the prusa i3 mk3s? If not, what is the recommendation for making one of these sheets fit on a prusa and work with their magnetic bed system?
So the email says the 9.25" x 9.25" is back in stock but the web page will not permit me to add it to the cat=rt. What gives?
How well does this work with ABS?
Can this be mounted to a spring steel plate that can be flexed for easy part removal?
I have a 12 x 12 magnetic build plate system. One plate is pei and another is build Tak. Do you sell 12 x 12 flexible steel that I can attach this to?
When applied to the glass, does this material work with Ultimaker S5 auto-leveling or do you have to switch to manual leveling? I intend to have two glass plates to switch between... one with PEI and one with this Garolite but I want to retain auto-leveling if possible, to avoid having to swap between different startup G-code sequences, etc. Thanks!
Can this material be machined? And if so what would you recommend it be coated with for extra protection
When replacing this sheet, can it be applied to another used sheet of garolite or should the previous be removed before placing the new one?
Hi, is this a MatterHacker original product or is it made by someone else? I'm based in the UK and would like to buy this but the international shipping is prohibitive, is there a UK (or EU) based reseller?
Can this be applied over PEI? I have an old Prusa Mk3 PEI spring steel sheet with smooth PEI that I would like to use but don't want to remove the PEI film if possible.
I have a similar build plate on one of my machines. I flipped the spring steel sheet over and attached the Garolite to the opposite side. Now I can use either surface to print on.
