BASIC ATTRIBUTES
| STRENGTHS | TRADE-OFFS |
| High impact and wear resistance (very strong and rigid material) |
Requires hardened nozzle |
| Excellent high-temperature resistance (up to 190°C) |
Lower layer-to-layer adhesion compared to pure PA11 |
| Low friction coefficient | Carbon fibers increase filament diameter variability (0.04mm) |
| Great chemical resistance | Slightly hygroscopic |
| Great dimensional stability – possible to print large models without an enclosure |
A special print sheet (or separation layer) is required |
| Noticeably less hygroscopic compared to other polyamides |
Emits odors during printing |
| Visually appealing matte black surface |
TIPS & TRICKS
- Using an abrasive-resistant nozzle (hardened steel, ruby-tip, diamond-tip, tungsten carbide, etc.) is required.
- Carbon fibers are highly abrasive and will quickly wear out a brass nozzle.
- Using a glue stick on a satin build plate is recommended to preserve its longevity.
- Drying the filament before use is recommended. You can find filament dryers here.
