Polyvinyl Alcohol or PVA is a commonly used support material for PLA 3D prints and allows 3D printing enthusiasts to successfully produce complex, and multi-component printed parts. PVA can be quickly and easily removed by simply submerging both the part and PVA in a tank of bath of water to dissolve the support. When deciding on what material to use PVA with please consider the following:
- Is the other material hygroscopic and will it be affected by being submerged in water?
- Is the other material extruded at or around the same temperature?
