MatterHackers Education Ambassador and Applied Engineering & Technology Teacher Bill White presents at the ISTE Tools That Work Showcase with the following bite-sized info session, crammed with helpful advice to affordably get students started with hands-on experience in 3D Printing.
Facing the challenges of teaching a tactile subject in a virtual setting, Bill walks through his process in getting low-cost 3D printers into the homes of his students at Avonworth Middle/High School. Beginning at guiding kids through the process to set up their own machines and then developing their 3D printing skills to help them apply their knowledge to solve real world problems, Bill's students were able to 3D print several parts and tools used for PPE and to work in conjunction with local organizations like 3D Pittsburgh Research and Design to provide these printed parts to those in need.
