Tech Breakdown: Dyze Design Components
Print with engineering-grade PEEK and PEI by installing Dyze Design components on your 3D printer.
High-Temperature 3D printing is the holy-grail for many 3D printer users - from enthusiasts and educators to small business owners and major manufacturers. Dyze Design has made a name for themselves with their line of hotends, extruders, and accessories for an optimized 3D printing performance. All their printer upgrades are more than capable of sustaining the specifications necessary to 3D print with engineering grade filaments like NylonX, NylonG, PEEK, and PEI, while still being able to use the more common materials like PLA and nylon.
Let's break it down-
DyzEnd-X and DyzEnd Pro
Depending on your individual application, you may want to choose between the DyzEnd-X and the DyzEnd Pro. The DyzEnd-X was designed to be the hotend that could handle anything and everything thrown at it - temperature is not an obstacle with this hotend. This all-metal hotend features everything from a titanium heat break to high-powered electrical components to reach temperatures as high as 300°C. By using a special high-temp washer in every nozzle, you can swap nozzles with a completely cold system - with no leaks! The DyzEnd Pro kicks everything up to 11 with its tungsten carbide nozzle, ceramic coated heat break, high temperature heater block, and quality of life upgrades galore for quieter, vibration resistant performance bringing the maximum temperature up to 500°C. Either of the DyzEnd hotends are compatible with direct drive or bowden systems, just groove-mount it or thread in a push to connect fitting to get running.
DyzeXtruder GT
Dyze has developed and refined their extruder offerings to create two powerful extruders: the DyzeXtruder GT and the DyzeXtruder PRO. The DyzeXtruder GT is the foundation laid for the DyzeXtruder PRO to build upon; both of these offer a plethora of features in compact and lightweight all-metal packages. The DyzeXtruder GT utilizes custom hardened steel and brass gears giving this extruder a 5.65:1 gear ratio for excellent pushing power, dual-drive feeder gears are used to firmly grip flexible and rigid filaments alike, a motor and cable picked to maximize torque and ease of installation, a unique mechanism to disengage tension on the filament with one quick push of a lever for easy filament insertion, and even threaded holes on the side of the housing for easy mounting in direct drive or bowden configurations. And to make maintenance and upgrades that much easier, the DyzeXtruder GT features a quick release latch to completely remove the hotend with just one screw when paired with a DyzEND hotend.
DyzeXtruder PRO
For those looking for even more out of a 3D printer extruder, the DyzeXtruder PRO answers the call. Dyze redesigned and optimized the feeder gears for a new teeth pattern, making huge improvements in the pushing power the extruder is capable of. The filament path has been tightened up to fully constraining outgoing filament making its only exit out the nozzle. The PRO still features the quick-release found on the GT for easy hotend removal, but now has a slight indent to make it even easier to position and lock it down with the new thumbscrew, instead of a plain screw. But one of the biggest changes is the backblock, the back half of the extruder body: the machined cooling fins spread out the heat of the motor and passively cools the extruder in an open room as well as a liquid-cooled DyzeXtruder GT.
Liquid-Cooling Options
That’s right, any Dyze Design extruder system component can be liquid-cooled, The DyzEnd-X and DyzEnd Pro can have their cooling fan replaced with an ENP Liquid Cooling Block to instantly transform them into fully capable hotends that can sustain performance even in an 120°C environment. The DyzeXtruder GT and DyzeXtruder PRO have their own cooling block that easily mounts to the rear of the motor with 4 screws and without modifications to the rest of the assembly for the same 120°C performance.
Tungsten Carbide Nozzles
Just because you don’t have a Dyze Design hotend or extruder doesn’t mean you don’t get to experience what Dyze has to offer: they offer tungsten carbide nozzles in several form factors, filament diameters, and nozzle sizes so you can upgrade a printer you already have to see for yourself the value of these ultra wear-resistant, low friction 3D printer nozzles.
