Tech Breakdown: The FLUX beamo Desktop Laser Cutter & Engraver
The FLUX beamo is a fantastic addition to any workspace that needs a fully featured laser cutter while minimizing the necessary desk space.
Laser cutters and engravers come in a wide variety of sizes and strengths - if you’re looking for a great entry point at an affordable piece, but still has the features you want and a path for upgrading for the capabilities you don’t know you need, then the beamo is the right laser cutter and engraver for you. Every beamo uses a built-in HD camera for easy placement and planning for materials and designs, a high-resolution laser to capture the smallest of details in your patterns, and an internal water-cooling system to keep everything at the optimal temperature without taking up more desk space. There’s even a path for upgrading down the road with multiple add-ons for additional features or easier operation.
Let's break it down-
High-Resolution Laser
This compact laser cutter packs a punch with its powerful 30W CO2 laser. With a laser spot size smaller than the width of a human hair beamo is able to cut and engrave incredibly fine details while engraving at a layer depth as small as 0.05mm. “Organic” materials like cardboard, wood, and leather can be engraved and cut with ease to a maximum thickness of 5mm. Tougher materials like glass, cement, or anodized metal, while they can’t be cut they can be engraved exceptionally well. With a little experimentation by slowing down the cutting speed or doing multiple passes, it’s even possible to cut materials deeper than 5mm.
Built-In HD Camera
To make setup easy and convenient, the FLUX beamo features a built-in, HD camera to take a picture of the entire work area, ensuring you know exactly where your design is going to be engraved. Simply click the camera icon in Beam Studio, the user-friendly and intuitive software designed for all FLUX laser cutters, and the beamo will take care of the rest. Then import or create your own designs within Beam Studio knowing that what you see on your screen - PC and mobile - you will see in your finished engraving.
Internal Water-Cooling
CO2 laser cutters require liquid cooling from the heat they generate, and where many other laser cutters will use a bulky external pump to circulate water, the FLUX beamo uses an internal closed-loop water-cooler to ensure that all components remain at the optimal operating temperature. By keeping the cooling system internal, it makes organizing and setting up your workspace a lot easier than managing tubes and pumps that sit beside the laser cutter.
Plenty of Add-Ons
The FLUX beamo is a desktop laser cutter at an affordable price, which means there might be room left in your budget for some add-ons to unlock the full potential of your beamo. Use the AutoFocus to automatically adjust the laser’s focus depending on the thickness of the material and will enable it to cut deeper by using more precise multiple passes. The Rotary add-on makes engraving on round objects possible by spinning the workpiece; put your design on the side of pint glasses, bottles, or even steel tumblers. Or for a more industrial use, add a serial number or QR code for quality control of your manufactured parts." To improve the cutting speed and efficiency of the beamo, there’s even the Hybrid Laser that combines a diode laser and CO2 laser. Something every beamo user should consider is the Beam Air Fume Extractor for beamo & Beambox to ventilate any fumes out and away from populated areas.
As one of the smallest desktop laser cutters you can buy, the FLUX beamo is a fantastic addition for any workshop or small business. To learn more and to order your FLUX beamo today, you can check it out here.
