Ten 3D Prints that would look great in your bathroom.
Whether it's a toothpaste squeezer or a tooth shaped toothbrush holder, 3D printing has some fun opportunities to decorate your bathroom.
The longer I've had my 3D printer, the more often I have friends and family ask what do I do with it. The easiest thing to do is show a functional print in my home that I use daily, rather than something that sits on my desk and looks pretty. There's many different rooms, purposes, and specific functional prints that you could have in your home of your design or something you've downloaded off the many 3D model repositories, but here are 10 of my favorite 3D prints tailored for the bathroom.
The Big Tooth 2.0: A Toothbrush Holder
Rather than a cup or a drawer to toss my toothbrush into, I printed out the Big Tooth 2.0. I printed mine in ABS and did a quick vapor polish so I could make sure it didn't attract bacteria and that I could clean it out easier when it starts to get dirty.
This was designed by Lloyd Roberts on MyMiniFactory.com
Toothpaste Tube Squeezer
I've tried my hand at designing a quick version of this that the toothpaste tube slides into, but the tube always uncurls after I let it go. This Toothpaste Tube Squeezer by ottenjr on Thingiverse.com used an ingenious lock mechanism to keep the squeezer in place after you're done using it, and it can accommodate most sizes of toothpaste tubes.
Medicine Cabinet Shelf
Some medicine cabinets allow you to adjust the shelf height and spacing, but the apartment I moved into has a medicine cabinet with the shelves screwed into it. Some of the shelves were higher than I needed, so I ended up with a lot of wasted space until I printed a couple shelves designed by Eric Gigante on MyMiniFactory.com.
Soundwave Soap Dish
It's not a dish based on the Transformers character Soundwave, but it's a really quick and easy print that I needed for my bathroom. This little soap dish designed by DesignerFred on MyMiniFactory.com works really well to keep my bar of soap from sticking to the edge of the sink, and works even better if you vapor smooth your print, so I recommend printing in either ABS or PolySmooth.
Bob-omb Tissue Holder
I wanted a tissue holder that was more interesting than just a box with tissues sticking out of it, and this Bob-omb tissue holder caught my eye and I just had to print it. omgpuppy on Thingiverse.com based the design off an existing tissue holder and printing eyes and feet to attach to it. He even included a version of it that you can modify for other household objects as well!
Multi-pair Glasses Stand
I have accumulated quite a few pairs of glasses over the years and depending on how awake I am in the morning, I may or may not remember where I left my glasses. With this 3D model by stocktonrgs on Thingiverse.com, I never have to worry; they're always right where I left them on this handy stand. There are versions for 1, 2, or 3 pairs of glasses.
Quick Change Toilet Paper Holder
The toilet paper holder in my apartment when I moved in was kind of old and the spring loaded rod that held the toilet paper had seized, making it difficult to remove an empty roll and put on a new one. dragonator on Thingiverse.com designed this really awesome holder with additional spacers to fit any sized roll you have and makes changing rolls super quick and easy. I'm going to make sure from now on all my toilet paper holders are this model.
Sanitary Napkin Holder
My significant other, for as long as I've known her, has always just kept feminine products in the box they came in right next to the toilet. With a 3D printer and some design software at my disposal, I wanted to design her something to both hold them and dispense them when needed. I took inspiration from teabag boxes, which have a small cutout at the base, so as you pull one out, the next one falls into place.
Razor Holder
Rather than letting my razor blade rest on the blade, stay wet, and start to rust, I printed a couple of these for my shower so I would have a designated spot for my razor and to keep it clean. This was designed by Tosh Sayama on MyMiniFactory.com for a specific razor, so you may need to scale it up slightly to fit razors with a larger neck.
Shower Beer Holder
Taking an ice cold beer (or root beer) into a hot shower was initially something I learned from Reddit. It's supposed to be really refreshing and a nice way to relax after a day's work. The shower I have doesn't have anywhere for me to put my beer other than the floor, where I could easily get soap and water into it. trbone76 on Thingiverse.com designed this with a flat back so some adhesive strips could hold this onto the wall and fit a standard can or bottle.
There we go! These are ten of my favorite 3D models and prints designed for the bathroom. If there are any models that didn't make the list and you feel like they should, leave a comment down below and maybe you'll see it in a later article.
Happy printing!
