Printing Tips
- Drying filament ensures consistent print quality. Find filament dryers here.
- In a blast drying oven: 100 - 140°C for 8 - 12 hrs.
- On an X1 printer's heatbed: 110 - 120°C for 10 - 12 hrs.
- Note: Higher temperatures within the range yield better results, but do NOT exceed 160°C to avoid melting the spool.
- To prevent filament from absorbing moisture, use an airtight storage container with desiccant during printing.
- To enhance the properties of PPA-CF, anneal printed parts for improved strength, heat resistance, and dimensional stability.
- Apply a thin coat of glue stick to the printing surface to improve adhesion and protect the build plate from potential damage.
- To ensure strong bed adhesion, maintain consistent temperature, and reduce warping, enclosure printers are recommended.
- Printing with a hardened steel nozzle is recommended to ensure long-term nozzle durability and consistent extrusion quality due to the abrasive nature of carbon fiber. Find nozzles here.
