Bambu Lab PPA-CF Filament

Bambu Lab PPA-CF (Polyphthalamide Carbon Fiber) is a premium carbon fiber-reinforced nylon that delivers industrial grade printing quality. Combining excellent toughness, heat resistance, and chemical stability from the PPA base with the enhanced stiffness, dimensional stability, and print precision from the added carbon fiber, the exceptional mechanical performance and reliability shines in engineering, automotive, and functional prototyping.

Key Features of Bambu Lab PPA-CF Filament:

  • Carbon fiber reinforced for outstanding rigidity and tensile strength
  • High thermal and mechanical stability for industrial-grade performance
  • Excellent resistance to wear, heat, and moisture for long-term reliability
  • Delivers precise, dimensionally accurate prints for functional components
  • Ideal for automotive parts, mechanical jigs, and engineering prototypes
  • Performs best when printed in an enclosed printer with a hardened steel nozzle

Strength, Stiffness & Reliability

PPA-CF is engineered for high-performance applications with its excellent mechanical properties. With strengths and stiffness surpassing normal PA6-CF, this filament is the perfect substitute for automotive and industrial parts.

  • Exceptional durability and reliability
  • 48% stronger and 102% stiffer than PA6-CF
  • Dependable for engineering applications, prototypes, and repairs

Precision & Stability in Extreme Conditions

Bambu Lab PPA-CF delivers excellent dimensional accuracy ensuring parts stay true to design without deformation, while its moisture-resistant formulation maintains performance even in humid or wet conditions. This filament remains robust even in high temperatures without compromising structural integrity or performance.

  • High-precision with superior dimensional stability
  • 66% lower moisture absorption than PA6-CF
  • Withstand temperatures up to 227°C
  • Ideal for prototypes, outdoor equipment, and mechanical parts

Printing Tips

  • Drying filament ensures consistent print quality. Find filament dryers here.
    • In a blast drying oven: 100 - 140°C for 8 - 12 hrs.
    • On an X1 printer's heatbed: 110 - 120°C for 10 - 12 hrs.
    • Note: Higher temperatures within the range yield better results, but do NOT exceed 160°C to avoid melting the spool.
  • To prevent filament from absorbing moisture, use an airtight storage container with desiccant during printing.
  • To enhance the properties of PPA-CF, anneal printed parts for improved strength, heat resistance, and dimensional stability.
  • Apply a thin coat of glue stick to the printing surface to improve adhesion and protect the build plate from potential damage.
  • To ensure strong bed adhesion, maintain consistent temperature, and reduce warping, enclosure printers are recommended.
  • Printing with a hardened steel nozzle is recommended to ensure long-term nozzle durability and consistent extrusion quality due to the abrasive nature of carbon fiber. Find nozzles here.
    • Recommended Sizes: 0.6mm
    • Compatible: 0.4mm, 0.8mm
