Polymaker PolyLite ABS

EXCELLENT QUALITY, MINIMAL ODOR

Polymaker PolyLite ABS 3D Printer Filament delivers exceptional print quality with minimal odor, thanks to its specialty bulk-polymerized resin with significantly lower volatile content. It's ideal for durable functional parts requiring high temperature resistance and is perfect for applications demanding strength and thermal performance without the typical ABS printing odors.

Key Features of the Polymaker PolyLite ABS Filament:

  • Low-odor ABS with superior print quality
  • Specialty resin reduces volatile emissions significantly
  • Ideal for strong, heat-resistant functional parts
  • Best results with enclosure and hot hotend
  • Advanced formulation outperforms traditional ABS filaments

Print functional parts like buckles with Polymaker PolyLite ABS.

PRINTING REQUIREMENTS

  • An enclosure for your 3D printer that can trap ambient air and keep the environment hot.
  • An all-metal hotend that can reach 250°C or higher is recommended, but not required.
  • Magigoo Original can help with build plate adhesion.

*ABS is a partially hygroscopic material, meaning that it naturally absorbs moisture from its environment. This can cause printing issues if it absorbs too much moisture. To counteract it, using a filament dryer to actively remove the moisture within the filament and a storage container (ideally with dessiccant) when not in use is recommended.

FAQ

Which 3D printer can print PolyLite™ ABS?

Depending on the size of the models you are trying to print, PolyLite™ ABS can require an enclosed 3D printer, or even an actively heated chamber.

Generally, a non-enclosed 3D printer with 90˚C bed temperature and 260˚C printing temperature can handle models smaller than a fist.

For bigger prints, an enclosed 3D printer (~40-50˚C) will be required.

For models bigger than ~15-20cm in any direction, an actively heated chamber (~70˚C+) will be required.

Using proper bed adhesion can also help printing larger parts without deformation/warping issues. Polymaker recommends Magigoo or BuildTak as adhesive and bed surface options.

Can PolyLite ABS be post-processed with Acetone?

Yes, PolyLite ABS can be smoothed with acetone.

  • WARNING: Acetone is a dangerous chemical. Please handle it with the necessary safety precautions.

Polymaker's PolySmooth is recommended as a safer alternative to create smooth surface models.

Will the spools work in an AMS?

Yes. Polymaker redesigned the edges of their spools so all Polymaker products have better compatibility in the Bambu Lab AMS.

Is this material food safe?

Polymaker does not have data regarding whether or not this material is food safe.

Currently, no 3D printing material on the market is FDA food-safe compliant. To be certified as food safe, the actual object needs to be certified, not the base material.

The shape, bed used, environment the object was made, and much more go into getting a food safety certificate.

Currently, there is no certification that the FDA offers for 3D printing.

Does Polymaker sell refills?

Polymaker does not offer PolyLite ABS refills at this time. However, MH Build ABS Refills in 1.75mm are available.

Why Are Items on Clearance?

At MatterHackers, to bring you new and exciting products, we occasionally shift some of our quality stock to the Clearance section.

Reasons for Clearance Items:
  • New Product Versions: When manufacturers release updated versions of printers, CNC machines, filament, etc., the older versions typically go to Clearance.
  • Overstock: Items we have in excess are moved to Clearance to free up warehouse space.
  • Discontinuation: Discontinued product lines often end up in Clearance to expedite the sale of remaining stock.
  • Packaging Changes: When packaging updates occur, we shift the older packaged items to Clearance.
