BASIC ATTRIBUTES

STRENGTHS TRADE-OFFS
Good high-temperature resistance Not as detailed as PLA, for example
Easy to print Possibility of stringing
Low shrinking and warping Less ideal for bridging characteristics
High strength & durability
Easier to stand than PLA
(softer, less melting)

TIPS & TRICKS

  • PETG may produce some stringing or oozing during printing, unlike PLA or ABS.
  • Drying the filament before use helps reduce stringing. Find filament dryers here.
  • Adjusting retraction settings or hotend temperature can further minimize stringing.
  • Using Prusa Slicer’s filament presets optimizes settings for minimal stringing.
  • Any remaining strings can be easily removed with a quick pass of a heat gun.
